Czech Geological Experts Visited the Large-scale landslide in Taiwan and ARDSWC And We Visited Czech Economic and Cultural Office Together

Experts from the Institute of Rock Structure and Mechanics (USMH) at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic visited Taiwan, showing great interest in the rock structures and soil and water conservation measures in large-scale landslide areas.

The experts conducted on-site inspections of landslide disaster management in Taiwan, visiting the large-scale landslide in Guanghua, Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, the large-scale landslide in Dalun Mountain in Shiding District, New Taipei City, and the large-scale landslide in Meihua, Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County.

These locations possess rich rock structures and are severe testing grounds for natural disasters, especially with Taiwan frequently facing typhoons and other disasters. We actively employs monitoring technologies to enhance the management of large-scale landslide areas, with a particular focus on regions such as Guanghua, Dalun Mountain and Meihua. During the exchange process, the foreign delegates actively participated in sharing monitoring results and provided valuable professional feedback.

This unique opportunity also allowed us to jointly visit the Czech Economic and Cultural Office, engaging in in-depth discussions regarding the follow-up promotion of the Taiwan-Czech Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), collaboration content, and bilateral technical exchanges. Czech delegates personally visited the ARDSWC, sharing insights gained from their visit to large-scale landslide areas in Taiwan and engaging in discussions on slope disaster monitoring technologies. We look forward to establishing closer technical exchanges and fostering deeper collaborative relationships with the Czech Republic in the future.
