Participation in the AARDO International Conference in South Korea

Associate Engineer Yi-Chia Lin of the Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation (ARDSWC) was recommended by the Director-General and invited by the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO) to attend the 50th Anniversary Seminar of the Regional Office for Far East (FERO) in South Korea.

The seminar was chaired by Dr. Jun-Won Lee, the AARDO Representative for the Far East Region, and attended by representatives from Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Laos. Taiwan, South Korea, and Malaysia each presented reports on the current state of rural development in their respective countries.

Taiwan’s presentation was delivered by Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Chien-Hung Tung, and Associate Engineer Yi-Chia Lin from ARDSWC. Their report covered key topics such as Taiwan’s rural development background, population changes, industry support, green care initiatives, and international cooperation. They elaborated on Taiwan’s rural development policies, which aim to create livable, business-friendly, and tourism-friendly rural communities. The attending delegates expressed strong agreement with the shared insights and showed interest in future collaboration and exchange activities in rural development.
