Students from the International Program on Natural Hazards Mitigation and Management at National Cheng Kung University visit the Niupu Mudstone Soil and Water Conservation Educational Park

Students from the International Program on Natural Hazards Mitigation and Management at National Cheng Kung University visited the Niupu Mudstone Soil and Water Conservation Educational Park. They had a field trip to gain a deeper understanding of the formation of mudstone terrain and its unique characteristics in soil and water conservation efforts. The experience was rich in knowledge, fostering the students' spirit of exploration. Guided in English by trained volunteers, the visit coincided with heavy rain, allowing students to carefully observe the different properties of mudstone when dry versus saturated, and to experience its texture firsthand. While touring the conservation facilities within the park, students also witnessed the famous overflow function of the pavilion amid water after the rain, leaving a lasting impression on such unique management practices of farm ponds.
